For UMB, dj’aying was a hobby that led to many amazing opportunities to travel the world & hold residences in some of the world’s most famous & branded hotspots.

This hobby led to him being approached to release a number of compilations for a BBC imprint & mixtape CDs for a number of other independent labels in the U.K. France & USA which were all distributed worldwide.

Also a co-owner of a now-defunct, award-winning & world-famous underground dance music blog & label between 2009 – 2015 – Generation Bass. The blog was praised internationally by broadsheets & cited as an influence by some major dance music artists. The label birthed artists who were later signed by labels such as Sony Music, Hyperdub, Warp Records & Mad Decent.

And that’s just his hobbies!

UMB has been stanning Prince since 82’ who soundtracked his teens & he says it was *MORE* phenomenal than they would have you believe!

UMB was lucky enough to feature on the same Festival billing as Prince in 2010 & seeing his name & Prince’s name on the same promotion material was one of his DJ highlights.

Now, he is one of the creators & co-hosts of the Nerdy Purple #PrinceTwitterThread which is receiving a heap of praise from Prince’s former associates & a lot of love amongst the Purple Community.

The #PrinceTwitterThread ethos is to be all-inclusive.
